I first met Jon in 2019 when he joined the Commonwealth of Virginia's Information Technology Agency (VITA) as its first Chief Operating Officer. Jon had a relentless focus on service management, supplier relationships, and new service offerings. As the Chief of Technology and Business Strategy for the Virginia Department of Transporatation (one of VITA's largest customers), his outsider and innovative perspectives were refreshing and produced rapid results. He helped transform VITA's multisourcing services integration (MSI) model from startup to sustainable delivery. Under his leadership, his team launched new service offerings for Box, Docusign, Zoom, Prisma, and a host of additional services. And all these changes and improvements occurred during a once in a lifetime global pandemic that completely disrupted the entire Commonwealth. Jon is a transformative leader and I recommend him to any organization seeking to radically improve.

I had the pleasure of working with Jon as a contractor responsible for integrating and managing the IT Infrastructure services that he provided in his role as COO for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA). These services were provided to 65 executive branch agencies and 60,000 end users at 2,200 agency locations and consisted of 4,300 servers, 9,500 network components, 2 petabytes of managed storage, managed security, Gmail, a centralized service desk, and a tier 3 (50,000 sq. ft.) data center with off-site DR capability provided by over 500 IT professionals.
